The children painted their hands and made handprints on paper that were used to make the wings of a paper butterfly. 

The finished butterfly and a poem were glued onto a plastic cup that held a planted flower.

Pre-Kindergarten is using the letters and sounds that they have learned to write words.  They enjoy writing throughout the day. 

The children are working on a model of the four life stages of butterflies.  We used one paper hole punch for the egg, and different macaroni for the caterpillar and butterfly.  The children enjoyed using colored markers and crayons to “write” about and label these butterfly projects.

In Pre-k we are making a book about butterflies.  In their little books the children draw pictures and write facts about butterflies.  They thought it was very interesting how the butterflies taste with their feet and smell with their antennae.

We have a new computer in our classroom!  It is so nice!  The children are working hard on their computer skills.  Also, an awesome grandparent donated a Computer Cool School and some great software.  We are so excited!

We are having a great time collecting bugs in the beautiful spring weather.  Later, the children observe the different insect types under the microscope and so far, the ladybug has been the most popular.
